How Much Does a Bathroom Remodel Cost in Phoenix?

Typical ranges from our own Phoenix-area bathrooms.

Guest bath, primary bath and walk-in shower, side by side.

How to budget before you call a contractor.

A bright primary bath with a freestanding tub, marble tile and a frameless glass shower

The short answer

Guest baths run $12K–$18K. Primary baths run $16K–$25K.

Where you fall in those ranges depends on five decisions, below.

  • $12K–$18K

A guest or hall bath: new tile, vanity, fixtures and lighting in the existing footprint.

  • $16K–$25K

A primary bath: a tiled walk-in shower, tub, double vanity and finishes, with the plumbing largely where it is.

  • Higher

Moving walls or plumbing, a curbless wet room, stone slab and premium fixtures push past the typical range.

  • Fixed price

A detailed scope and price before you commit, so the number you sign is the number you pay.

Why one number does not fit every bathroom

A guest bath and a primary bath are different projects, and two primary baths can be priced very differently. What we can do is explain the decisions that set your price — and give you a detailed scope of work and cost before any commitment is made.

The five decisions that set your price

1. Layout: same footprint or new plan. Keeping the toilet, vanity and shower where they are keeps a project toward the lower end of the range. Moving a drain, taking space from a closet or opening a wall adds plumbing, framing, permitting and construction work.

2. The shower. A tiled, waterproofed walk-in shower is the heart of most of our bathrooms. A curbless entry, a bench, niches and frameless glass each add work, and all of them are worth planning together — see walk-in shower conversions.

3. Tile and surfaces. Porcelain tile, large-format slabs and natural stone sit at different price points, and floor-to-ceiling tile, heated floors and intricate patterns add installation time.

4. Vanity, fixtures and glass. A custom or double vanity, a freestanding tub, premium plumbing fixtures and frameless glass change both the materials budget and the plumbing and carpentry around them.

5. Systems, permits and HOA. New circuits, relocated water lines, ventilation and code updates are invisible but real costs. Work that moves plumbing, electrical or walls needs a permit, and some Valley communities set rules for contractors — we handle both.

Timeline

Plan for a design and selection phase first — 3D renderings, tile and fixture choices and ordering — and then active construction. Bathrooms are quicker than kitchens, and your project manager gives you the schedule up front and keeps it current.

How to budget

Decide which of the five decisions matter most to you, set a range you are comfortable with, and keep a contingency for what is behind the walls. Changes after construction starts — even small ones like moving a sink — have the biggest effect on cost, so the time spent planning is the cheapest part of the project. If a tub you never use is the problem, a walk-in shower conversion inside a guest or primary bath remodel is often the right scope.
